Verbier, Switzerland - nov 22 2014. Alexandra Lundström and Martin Lewis on their skin hike next to the Lac des Veaux, in Verbier, in the Swiss alps. To do skinning, you need skis with a specific locking mecanism allowing the shoe to move, and you also need the so-called "seal skin" which is now made out of a synthetic material, creating friction with snow when moving the ski backward but staying smooth when moving forward.<br />
