Verbier, Switzerland - nov 22 2014. Alexandra Lundström and Martin Lewis on their skin hike in Verbier, in the Swiss alps. Behind them, we can see the summit of the Mont Blanc (the highest point, between them). To do skinning, you need skis with a specific locking mecanism allowing the shoe to move, and you also need the so-called "seal skin" which is now made out of a synthetic material, creating friction with snow when moving the ski backward but staying smooth when moving forward.<br />
