Kiev, Ukraine, 27 july 2016. Two pilgrimmages organized by the Ukrainian Orthodox Church under the Moscow Patriarchate [OUC MP] and departing from opposed sides of the country (Ternopil oblast and Donetsk oblast) gathered today near St. Volodimir Hill to commemorate the eve of the Festival of the Baptism of Kyivan Rus. To avoid clashes with nationalists activists, ukrainian authorities mobilized more than 6000 policemen and installed security controls at the beginning of the march.
